7-Minute Metabolism Boosting Morning Workout For Men (Perfect For Holidays)

Start Your Day Right With This Quick 7-Minute Morning Workout.

morning workoutAs you probably already know, as you get older, your metabolism drops. What better way to start the morning, than with a quick metabolism boosting workout to get you going?

This great morning workout is timed, so it can only take 7-minutes, as you’ll see below. It’s not one of those ‘7-minute workouts’ that actually takes you 20-minutes to complete.

All you need to do is stick to the timings we’ve scheduled for you below and you’ll knock through this before you’re even properly awake.

Getting your body moving first thing in the morning is beneficial for boosting your metabolism, getting your lymphatic system working properly (which helps flush toxins from your body) and also waking up your digestive tract.

Combining workouts like the one below, with a great healthy eating plan will lay the basics that will help you keep your body in good shape, without spending hours working out, or the need to stick to restrictive fad diets.

The Workout:

morning workoutOne of the best ways to get in a quick workout is to use the Tabata principles of short bursts of exercise mixed with short rest periods.

The original format is 20 seconds exercise, 10 seconds rest, using 4 different exercises and doing these for 8 rounds each.

To make this workout quicker, I’m using a slightly altered format, which is 10 seconds exercise, 10 seconds rest. 4 exercises, 4 rounds. 30 secs rest between exercises.

  • Push ups – 80 secs (10 secs on, 10 secs off x 4 rounds) + 30 secs rest
  • Burpees – 80 secs (10 secs on, 10 secs off x 4 rounds)+ 30 secs rest
  • Air squats – 80 secs (10 secs on, 10 secs off x 4 rounds) + 30 secs rest
  • Mountain climbers – 80 secs (10 secs on, 10 secs off x 4 rounds)

The Benefits:

morning workoutThis short workout will get your heart pumping and get a bit of a sweat on. It’s perfect to get your blood flowing and your metabolism whirring, before your morning shower.

To put the cherry on the cake, spend 3 minutes stretching afterward and you will have had a great workout in just 10 minutes.

You can use this if you’re struggling to find the time to train, or you suspect you won’t get a full workout in today.

If you have slightly longer in the mornings, then you can use our 24-min fat burning workout, to really get your metabolic motor running and set yourself up for a great day.
